How it works

No portal to learn. You answer a text when you're on a break.

Check your licence

Put in your number. We pull the state record and show what's due.

Tell us the next job

Text a photo of the contract or the GC's request. That's usually all we need.

Sign, and it's done

We prepare everything. You approve on your phone; we file it or send it to the GC.

Dates that cost contractors money

Miss one and you can lose the right to get paid. We put every one of them on your calendar.

CA · AZ20 days

To send the preliminary notice after you start. Late, and earlier work can't be liened.

TX15th

Of the third month: the Texas notice for every unpaid month on a commercial job.

FL45 days

For Florida's Notice to Owner. Without it, the lien fails.

CA1 Jan 2028

Every California licence needs workers' comp, including the ones exempt today.

What we don't do, on purpose

We don't sell or issue insurance

Certificates come from your insurance agent. We request them, check them and keep them current.

We don't file lien claims

If it comes to a lien, a partner construction attorney files it. We hand over the paperwork.

We never ask for passwords

You sign forms yourself on your phone. State accounts stay in your name.

Talk to us in your language

Every message, form explanation and reminder comes in the language you pick.

Questions

Which states do you cover?

We read licence records automatically in California and Texas, and check Florida, Arizona and other states by hand. Notices and waivers follow each state's own rules.

Do I need an account?

No. Check your licence and leave a mobile number. We text you, and you answer when you can.

What does the state charge?

State fees are passed through at cost and shown before you pay. A California renewal is $450 for a sole owner and $700 for other businesses; a Texas electrical contractor renewal is $110.

Are you a law firm or an insurance agency?

No. Hired prepares and tracks paperwork. Lien claims go to partner attorneys, and insurance comes from your own agent.

Who is behind Hired?

Hired is a Machine Logic company. Its sister company, Filed, does the same job for truckers.
